"When almost upon a secluded oasis in the midst of a barren landscape, passing travelers will meet the Guardian, who ensures that no trouble is caused to the land or people there."


It started as a quick sketch of a girl, but then I thought up a background and that story-blurb, and it wasn't so quick anymore.

I didn't use any specific reference, just studied some nature pictures and looked in the mirror a few times.

A forest nymph tending to her flowerlings.
I made lots of custom brushes for this one..

Used Photoshop; many hours (don't know how many. =P )

I didn't use a photo reference for the figure, just a mirror.
No specific reference for the background, either-- I just spent some time studying forest pictures.

A fine place to take shelter, I think.
This was my first try at a more realistic style (I usually kept the lineart visible before).

Done with Photoshop and a tablet.. Can't remember how long it took, but it was a while. =P
